Purpose
Medicine Across Space and Time is an exploration of how various aspects of health have been dealt with by various cultures throughout history. We discuss topics from first principles to help develop a deep and meaningful understanding. We take a long-time preference approach to health and seek to understand and solve chronic disease from its root cause.
Structure
Essays are structured to present the topic in varying levels of complexity and length. “Sentence” summarizes the essay into a single sentence — the ultimate TL;DR. “Paragraphs” provides a brief synopsis of each main point of the essay. Only subscribers have access to the full essays and accompanying audio recordings (when available).
The reasoning behind this structure is two-fold. First, structuring the essays in this way allows for a quick read and presents the salient information in the most efficient way. Second, since the goal of the blog is to provide information that allows readers to better understand decisions that affect their health, I want the majority of the information available to everyone. For those who want to understand more deeply, full essays and archived posts are available to subscribers.
